The historical character of the man Jonah is vouched for by Jesus Christ (Mt.12:39-41). The account of Jonah in the belly of the great fish for three days was a sign or type of our Lord's burial and resurrection. Both are miraculous and both are equally credible. Jonah was a bigoted Jew and was unwilling to testify to a Gentile city, and he was angry at God for sending him to Nineveh. Jonah was a seasoned prophet and is mentioned in II Kings 14:25, St. Mt. 12:39-41, St. Luke 11:29-32. The book of Jonah shows Jonah's mission, his disobedience, his punishment, his prayer and his repentance. It also shows how Jonah went from one PIT to another PIT.

We are excited, humbled and honored that a truly anointed woman of God, Sis. Dorothy Dye, will lead us in this Spiritual Empowerment Experience.

Sis. Dorothy M. Dye was born in Detroit, MI and  has been in Valdosta, GA for the past almost 30 years. .  She is the mother of two,  grandmother of five, and proud great-grandmother of two precious little girls.  She is the widow of Bro. Leon G. Dye, who was a Gospel preacher who went to be with the Lord in 2003.

Sis. Dye is a Christian Clinical Counselor.  She is employed by Valdosta State University as the Executive Director of the Learning Service Center through the Division of Social Work.   The Center provides daycare services for seniors who are in the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease.  Sis. Dye also provides contract services for  Pathway to Hope Counseling Services and is the owner of a private service, Ledor Christian Counseling.

Sis. Dye is active at the Newsome St. Congregation of the Lord’s Church in Hahira, GA where Bro. Walter Scott is the minister, and Bros. Herman Godfrey, Gene Godfrey,   Joe Rawls and Freddy Gregory are the Elders. She loves the Lord and His people.   Her desire is to see her sisters walking in the truth of God’s Word, and living the abundant life of which our Lord speaks in St. John 10:10 -   “The thief cometh not but for to steal and to kill and to destroy; I am come that they might have life, and that more abundantly.”

Two of her life's Scriptures are found in Proverbs 3:5-6, and Romans 8:28:

“Trust in the Lord with all of thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.”  “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.”
